Our Platform
We are proud Zionists.
We are coalition builders.
We are believers in the American dream.
We answer the spread of strife with a simple reply: hinenu.
Core Beliefs
Pluralistic Judaism
We believe in promoting a pluralistic vision in which every Jew finds their place and feels like a cherished part of the Jewish people.
Jewish Peoplehood
We believe in fostering initiatives that bring American Jews and Israeli Jews closer to a reciprocal understanding within the framework of “arevut adadit” (mutual responsibility) – inspired by the timeless teaching that kol yisrael arevim zeh lazeh (all of Israel are responsible for one another).
Two-State Solution
We believe that the dream of swords being turned into plowshares can only be achieved by a two-state solution that allows Israelis and Palestinians to live peacefully side-by-side, advancing our aspiration for regional peace and the full acceptance of Israel into the global community.
We hope to act on these beliefs in the World Zionist Congress by:
– advocating for official policies that support an inclusive interpretation of Jewish life in all its diverse and unique forms, as practiced by Jews of every persuasion, while building consensus within the global Jewish community for the necessity of having the Jewish State represent the needs of all Jews.
– supporting policies within the national institutions that will promote the possibility of a two-state solution while we work to advocate for greater acceptance of a diplomatic solution among American Jews and Israeli Jews.
– lobbying for the national institutions – and our fellow slates – to invest in educational programs that bring the Jewish people closer together by relying on proven pedagogies for encouraging makhloket l’shem shamyim (argument for the sake of heaven) instead of teaching about individual streams and identities in silos.
– creating the space for honest discussions about how to best legislate concrete policies that strengthen civil society, advance the goals of a shared society, and assure the independence of Israel’s world-renowned judiciary.
– continuing to enact a vision of Israel that lives up to the promises of the early Zionist thinkers of a spiritual homeland in a secure, democratic, and just Jewish state.
